We Got It Wrong

Picon calls upon others to be transparent, so we attempt to always be so.

We seem to have gotten it wrong with our Parting of the Red Sea article on June 9, 2024.

Commissioner Mike Clark sent us an email Briana Foroszowsky had sent to him. Turns out when Commissioner Clara Andriola and Sparks City Councilmember Charlene Bybee were campaigning in her neighborhood, and Ms. Foroszowky spoke with them, she did not discuss the filed Election Integrity Violation with them.

We’re more than happy to correct our comment, and our apologies to Mrs. Foroszowsky that we didn’t take the time to reach out to her, but were in a rush, it was sloppy journalism.

We went back and listened to Mrs. Foroszowsky’s public comment – she was speaking about what occurred in the Washoe County Registrar of Voters Office, which lead her to file a Election Integrity Violation complaint – she then went onto say, “I met Commissioner Andriola recently while she was campaigning with my, with Charlene Bybee in my neighborhood. I believe after our conversation that day she would understand my motivation for observing and learning about the election process.” With the order of comment, we assumed, and did not verify, that her conversation with Andriola and Bybee was in regard to the violation filed. Picon was wrong.
