Sitting Municipal Court Judge Spoo apparently had no comment when asked if the county managers wife was given special access to the court.

On May 21st, 2021 Melody Brown, wife of Washoe County Manager Eric Brown, was arrested by Sparks Police for suspicion of DUI; this is something we have reported on previously - sharing bodycam footage of the encounter, as well as sharing the paperwork trail. On May 2nd, 2022 we made a request for comment directly to Judge Spoo, the Department 2 Municipal Court Judge in the City of Sparks; he serves as the chief judge, and we were hoping for his comment on the matter as it was adjudicated before Judge Barbara McCarthy who retired earlier this year. As of writing this - May 25th, 2022 — we have not received comment from Judge Spoo or the City of Sparks.
