Sour Grapes = No Support?

Picon is digging through the Nevada Secretary of State’s Candidate Contribution and Expense reports filed on October 15, 2025.

We ponder as the Democratic Party of Washoe County attempts to keep the Assembly District 27 seat why these three prominent Democrats are not supporting Heather Goulding, could it be sour grapes.

Picon attended many events during the primary where Assemblywoman Angie Taylor would sweep in and announce that Alex Velto would be ascending to her Assembly-27-Throne.

Maybe not so much Angie, voters seemed to disagree with you, and Velto had a surprising loss since he was the “chosen one.”

Since Velto’s primary loss Picon has seen NO support coming from Taylor or Velto for Goulding. Gee-whiz guys help a girl out. Or is it really sour grapes because the Republican opponent in the race, Carmen Ortiz, has basically no gosh-darn chance of winning so Goulding is a shoe in, something Velto wanted to be.

Ortiz ran against Taylor in 2022 and went down like a lead balloon.

Velto’s campaign gave his law partner, Reno City Councilmember Devon Reese money but none for Goulding.
