Lawson’s Sparks Kingdom Might Be Crumbling

So, Sparks Mayor Ed Lawson... Where do we even start? This guy's mayoral skills are about as impressive as a participation trophy. It'd be funny if it wasn't so frustrating for Sparks residents who barely voted him in back in 2022. You'd think scraping by would make him step up his game, but nah – he's doubled down on the chaos. Enter: The Facebook drama.

Here's the deal: Lawson's been posting on his personal Facebook page, which he used for campaigning. But now we're all like, "Is this Mayor Ed or just regular Ed talking?" 'Cause if it's Mayor Ed, the city might be in for some legal headaches.

So, School Board Trustee Joe Rodriguez and Councilmember Kristopher Dahir were having a little online tiff about roads. Standard political stuff, right? But Lawson just HAD to jump in, trying to keep Dahir by his side on the Sparks City Council dais. Why? Well, Councilman Paul Anderson's not exactly killing it in his campaign against Brad Fitch. Looking at those primary numbers, Anderson is in real trouble come November.

Dahir did a bit better in the primaries, so Lawson's going all out to save his buddy's race. This Facebook drama is just the tip of the iceberg.

The best part? Lawson telling Rodriguez he has "no idea how to do the job" and shouldn't "take an opposing view without any research." Umm, pot, meet kettle?

If Rodriguez wants to follow Lawson's advice on "research," here's a crash course:

  1. Hire your campaign buddy as a city lobbyist

  2. Pay them $90K of taxpayer money

  3. Have them ask their “buddy” the governor about roads that interest Lawson.

Boom! That's the Lawson way of "research."
