Cowardice … from the Washoe County School Board Trustees

Trustee Woodley kept turning his camera off and on dependent on public comment.

At the Washoe County School Board meeting yesterday former Reno City Employee/Director of Code Enforcement and School Board Trustee Alex Woodley Zoomed into the meeting.

That was his first act of cowardice.

Woodley’s second act of cowardice was to turn off his camera every time a public commenter referred to his “sexting” and questioned why he was still on the school board and had not as yet resigned.

Woodley needs to “man up” and take the criticism.

You did it, erased the messages, and didn’t realize the text messages could be restored by the City of Reno. You got caught. The City of Reno treated you honorably and allowed you to resign, when Picon had been told you were being walked out.

Mr. Woodley says he did nothing wrong, His actions could be compared to the bungled burglary of Balaji’s Temple where a group broke into the 300-year-old temple where rare and precious idols were taken.

What happened? A note found with the idols stated that the thieves were plagued with nightmares since their heist. Unable to function from paranoia and insomnia, they decided to give back what they had stolen and beg for forgiveness. The police did not obey. As of now, efforts are ongoing to catch the criminals.

Unlike the burglars, Mr. Woodley apparently has no remorse. However, time will be the thief of Mr. Woodley’s reputation.

Some residents of Washoe County are not going to be silenced, Woodley might as well resign, or be faced with continued public comment, or a recall. Or, hey, novel thought – how about you just acknowledge what you did and apologize.

You can only turn off your monitor for so long.
