One of our “sleuthie” readers ran into the attached document the Washoe County FY21-25 Strategic Plan – FY25 Update and while reading through it identified two interesting notations about the Washoe County Library.

We’ve marked both the pages regarding the LIBRARY TAX, of which we honestly don’t know why this would be listed.
The real issue seems to be why the county is including library tax discussions in their "Efficient Delivery of Regional Services" section when voters have already rejected such a measure. Our reader was right to question whether this belongs in that category at all.
The more appropriate focus should be on:
Analyzing how to manage the $4.5 million reduction
Determining which services can be maintained
Making staffing decisions based on the new budget reality
Respecting the voters' decision while finding sustainable solutions
