Washoe Republicans take aim their “own”
Picon Press learned of a vote to proclaim certain Republican politicians, who are supporting candidates not in the party, condemned.
On September 26, 2022, the Washoe County Republican Central Committee voted to condemn a list of local politicians after they stepped outside the Republican approved candidates. Specifically named were:
Sheriff Darin Balaam
Sparks Councilman Kristopher Dahir
Nevada Senator Heidi Gansert
Sparks Mayor Ed Lawson
Sparks Councilman Paul Anderson
Nevada Assemblywoman Jill Tolles
They were collectively condemned for their support of Adam Mayberry over Graeme Reid, both of whom are running for non-partisan seats on the Washoe County School Board.
Additionally, Sparks Councilman Dahir was further singularly condemned for his support of a democrat over the republican secretary of state candidate, Jim Marchant.
The official proclamation was heavy on WHEREAS, while still saving room for harsh words such as, “repugnant”.
The proclamation finished up with the official condemnation of the politicians and a shocker; stripping of Kristopher Dahir of any recognition as a republican by the Central Committee.
A separate declaration opposing President Biden’s comments about “MAGA Republicans” is also attached. The Central Committee provided these documents and they are being published on their site.
