Mansplaining?

Picon was curious, when the Sheriff’s Office created a women’s only committee, was it their intent to have a man as the keynote speaker? While Picon cannot begrudge the Sheriff the number of women in the ranks of the Sheriff’s Office when compared to the other departments, we are perplexed as to the optics of the man delivering the words. If memory serves, the Sheriff has had female undersheriff’s in the past. Are there no command level females in the Sheriff’s staff or what?

We would also be remiss if we did not recognize Chief Nance from the Reno PD, even though a white man was their first choice. And then there is Sparks. They have finally included a female in their command level position, Tara Edmonson. Both of these leaders were present at the meeting, not sure why they could not deliver the words.
