It's Not Just a Name Change

Interesting RWR already has created a PAC so isn’t this the cart before the horse? You know they are voting to change the name of the club to this PAC, we ponder if the members of the club know the PAC is already active.

The once-mighty Republican Women of Reno seems to now be desperately scrambling to rebrand themselves as the "Republican Women of Reno PAC." How quaint. Nothing says "nothing to see here" quite like a sudden identity crisis.

Let's call this what it really is: a spectacular attempt to sweep years of IRS negligence under a freshly monogrammed PAC rug. Apparently, someone in this esteemed organization forgot that those fancy EIN numbers actually require annual filings. Oopsie! Just a minor oversight spanning multiple tax cycles. Who hasn't forgotten to file their federal tax documents for years on end?

The current president, Debbie Hudgens, is working overtime pointing fingers in every direction except the mirror. Such impressive gymnastics deserve Olympic recognition. Never mind that she was at the helm last year when this financial train continued barreling down the tracks of non-compliance. But why take responsibility when you can just change your letterhead?

Someone must have finally dropped a dime on this creative bookkeeping operation, as federal "nasty grams" appear to be landing in mailboxes. Nothing motivates proper fiscal behavior quite like the threat of federal penalties.

This financial fiasco comes just as the Washoe County Republicans were seeing a glimmer of hope with Bruce Parks allegedly stepping down as Chair of the Washoe County Republican Party and Central Committee—until he yanked that rug right out from under them, declaring his intention to stay put. The political whiplash is real, folks.

Our reader who tipped us off about the RWR PAC, is a 44-year voting Republican who's now fleeing to non-partisan status, might be just the tip of the exodus iceberg. Who wouldn't want to abandon ship when the organization that lectures everyone about fiscal responsibility can't even handle its own tax forms?

The largest Republican women's club in Northern Nevada? More like the largest compliance avoidance scheme with a dress code. But hey, at least they're consistent—consistently avoiding both accountability and the IRS.

Best part of their email was pointing out that they might be trying to have this “club vote” outside of the usual club luncheon - good idea girls because making your members pay for lunch, that you make money from, in order to vote for a new club name would make the late First Lady Nancy Reagan cringe.
