Washoe County "Supporting" Commissioner Clark? Yeah, Right.
The invitation from Randi Thompson to attend a Tuesday, May 13, 2025 gathering at The Club at Arrowcreek. The working document outlining who has been invited to this gathering is at the bottom of this article.
Commissioner Clark frequently reaches out to us at Picon since the other three commissioners give us the silent treatment. As for Commissioner Herman? After eleven years of being ignored on the commission, who knows if she's still engaged or has mentally checked out.
Email from Assistant County Manager David Solaro asking Commissioner Mike Clark about the HOA meeting and offering county support. What is the county so worried about? If a group of HOA’s want to get together and host a meeting without county participation what is the problem?
When Clark contacted us about this mysterious HOA Community Communication & Collaboration event in May—supposedly organized by HOAs and Randi Thompson (a lobbyist with minimal involvement this session who happens to be besties with some hyperactive folks at the Nevada Legislature)—we were completely in the dark. We offered to publish the materials he shared so our eagle-eyed readers could investigate how this event materialized.
Lobbyist Randi Thompson inviting Commissioner Mike Clark to the HOA gathering.
Clark later called to inform us that Washoe County Government was implying he might be involved with organizing this gathering. How rich. Suddenly the county is "protecting" Clark and ensuring he has "all necessary resources"? Please. This is the same county that routinely restricts his information access and attempts to control him. Now they're his biggest supporters? Give us a break.
If you're curious about this event at the Club at Arrowcreek, reach out directly to Randi Thompson to see if you can attend. And do let us know what you discover—we're all ears.
Is it odd a paid lobbyist is putting this gathering together? Picon is a doubting group, hence we ponder if this gathering is a veiled attempt to aid State Senator Skip Daly’s Senate Bill 319. You know, Skip keeps telling us our taxes won’t be raised we will only need to pay an assessment if the bill passes. State Senator Lisa Krasner called Daly out on this'; clearly stating the “assessment” will be on your property tax bill. It will be a tax. Daly didn’t set a dollar amount if the bill passes - he’s leaving it up to the Washoe County Commissioners. No one will clearly define what this “tax/assessment” will cost taxpayers.
