A Storm of Criticism
In a surprising turn of events, Picon found themselves at the center of attention after posting a 2006 Temporary Restraining Order related to a Washoe County Commission District 4 candidate. The response was overwhelming, with a barrage of comments questioning our credibility, journalistic integrity, and fairness. Amidst the backlash, Picon noticed that some of the critics had less than honest Facebook accounts.
This experience led Picon to a valuable realization - the power of engagement.
We were going to let this go, post the TRO and move on, but the comments sparked a new curiosity to delve deeper into other possible court cases. Upon investigating, Picon discovered that while the 2006 Temporary Restraining Order had been digitized, another case from 2002 was yet to undergo digitalization. This prompted us to consider conducting a manual search at the Washoe County District Court for the document, which we will be doing next week. Additionally, based on certain comments, Picon will inquire about potential stalking and property injury allegations under NRS 200.575 and NRS 206.310, respectively.
While recognizing that it's impossible to please everyone, Picon has extensive coverage of two other District 4 candidates, Appointed-Commissioner Clara Andriola, and former Sparks Fire Chief Mark Lawson on our website.
Our investigative curiosity surrounding Hilton-Thomas’ fundraiser flyer prompted us to reach out to Red Hawk and ask if they were sponsors of her upcoming fundraiser at Pinocchio’s. They are not, and asked her to remove their logo, which has disappeared on her new flyer.
We’re wondering if we could push the boss to let us take the drive to Napa to inquire of Josh Cellers if they know they too are sponsors of Hilton-Thomas’ upcoming event.
